The Vishera chips comes in many flavors from eight, six and four core as the lowest which is the FX-4300 with default frequency of 3.8GHz and can be boost up to 4.0GHz. Although, it is the cheapest and lowest number of core it is geared with 4MB of L3 cache making it capable in any gaming and multi-tasking applications.

Their mid-range processor is the FX-6300 with active Six-Core with a total of 6MB L2 cache and 8MB shared L3 cache making it more than capable for gaming, video editing and other heavily graphics applications. The processor is clocked at 3.5GHz with boost frequency of 4.1GHz.

The main highlights for the Piledriver processors are the FX-8350 and FX-8320 having an insanely Eight-Core active processor. Both of them has 8MB L2 cache with 1MB dedicated to each core and an 8MB of shared L3 cache for a super fast performance.

These two processor have an almost the same specs that differs only in its base clock and boost frequency. Of course, the FX-8350 has the greater of the two which is clocked at 4.0GHz with boosted frequency of 4.2GHz while the FX-8320 operates at lower frequency of 3.5GHz and boosted up to 4.0GHz.

The AMD’s Piledriver architecture assures a boost in its performance additional 15-percent due to its Level 2 cache effectiveness compare to older Bulldozer that totally leave behind the specifically in the single thread applications.

However, Intel’s Six-Core processor is still the most powerful processor out there, the AMD’s Eight-Core Vishera is close enough to match their Quad-Core processors having the price less than the Core-i5 and a three year old AM3+ board can still be use in the FX-Series making it a very low cost upgrade.
